Any way to MacGyver it like shaving down the part it’s making contact with? Or is it making contact because of a bad bearing, bend, or whatever?

No clue, there’s no missing blades or anything. Wh atever it is it makes the whole slam panel and radiator shake. The R&R procedure requires removing the bumper.

It’s not too bad iirc. Been a while though. Something like pull the shroud, and the panel with the flappy doors, remove the two big nuts (one of them pictured in vid) unplug and remove fan.

Now if the rattle were located about a foot farther back, THAT would be a bitch and a half.

Probably debris build up. You'd be shocked at how much organic matter can find itself in that amazingly small gap between condenser and rad. I was anyway.

The DIY R&R procedures I’m finding all say to pul l the b umper off and take it out from the front.

You know, I do recall yanking the bumper for something now that you mention it. I honestly can’t recall what-for though, so they’re probably right.

I was lucky to have the bigly torx bit on hand, and lucky for the bolts cooperation coming out. That much I recall.

Edit: I also recall being stunned at their audacity when shopping for replacement fans. Common failure, as the resistors tend to go out and people just swap the whole assembly rather than r eplacing the resistors.

So far this car’s been great corrosion-eise. I’ve had exactly one bolt strip or shear in five years. For the most part I just have to break them and  then they can be hand rem oved.

Mine amazes m e, actually. It was an Alberta car, the rear wheel wells and bottom of the doors have bubbled up badly, but the suspension and undercarriage are all completely rust free.

I can only assume everything had been replaced once it made its way to BC, and then promptly wore the f ou t again before it  had time to rust.

It helps that everything underneath  is aluminum.
